Hi, I am having pain in the neck It originates from the spinal chord and goes to the right hand too. I consulted the doctor three times and they say it is some kind on spasm. But it is not getting healed. It has been more than a month. Can you tell me who should i consult in this regard. Is there a spinal chord specialist i should consider?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your feelings. Its likely that you are having some kind of compression of nerves that came out from spinal cord. Most of the time its due to Cervical Spodylosis. You should visit Rheumatologist (physician of bones, muscles and joints). Rheumatologist will likely advise you to have X-ray of cervical spine,Esr,crp ,NCS (Nerve conduction studies to check whether any thing compressing nerves or not) and may also advise you to have MRI to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile you can use analgesics ( topical and oral) and physiotherapy to get pain relief. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any question feel free to ask. Wish you good health.
